How to install your RO faucet tap

Switch off the purifier and open the old tap to release line pressure. Unscrew the old faucet and lift it out of the hole. Seat the upper washer, drop this tap through the hole, fit the lower washer and tighten the mounting nut by hand, then finish with a spanner. Push the RO pipe onto the 1/2 inch inlet connector, restore power, and run two litres to flush the line before you drink. Ten minutes covers the whole job.

What size hole do I need to drill for this RO faucet?

A 12 mm hole suits this tap on a steel sink deck or a wooden cabinet board. Drill 12 to 13 mm in granite or quartz. Always start smaller and open the hole up gradually.

Which RO pipe size should I order?

Measure the outside diameter of the tube running to your existing tap. Most domestic RO systems use 1/4 inch. Larger cabinet and under-counter units often use 3/8 inch. Choose the 3/8 inch with tank connector variant if the line comes off a pressure tank.

What is the inlet connector size?

1/2 inch threaded, which is the standard female connector on Indian domestic RO systems, so it usually connects without any adapter.

Is a stainless steel RO tap better than a plastic one?

For a tap you use several times a day, yes. Plastic taps crack at the thread and handle after a year or two of pressure cycling. An SS 304 body resists corrosion, holds the thread and survives being over-tightened.

Will it fit a wooden modular kitchen cabinet top?

Why does an RO tap leak at the base?

Almost always a missing or perished washer, or a mounting nut that has worked loose. Fit both washers, tighten the nut firmly, and check the pipe is pushed fully home on the inlet.

Yes. Any undersink, cabinet or under-counter purifier that dispenses through a deck-mounted tap with a 1/2 inch connector will work.
